Description
- Iron, Paint, pine, poplar, walnut
- approx 144cm. high, 105cm. wide, 220cm. long; 4ft. 8¾in., 3ft. 5¼in., 7ft. 2¾in.
with a shaped back, hinged seat, the front surmounted by a later Empire gilded-bronze figure, the whole carved with scrolls and foliage, with a rectangular footboard; decoration refreshed, distressed
Condition
In need of some restoration. One of the side panels has dropped but also has bits missing. There are some losses to the carved sections.The figure has lost its gilding and is a later replacement. There are cracks generally and flaking of the painted decoration. One side has losses on the central section and part of the floorboard is missing as are some of the mouldings around the base of the carriage section of the sleigh. The footboard is possibly a later replacement.
