Catalogue Note

This charming dish features roundels containing floral sprays between cintamani spots in a simplicity that is off-set by the four chinoiserie style ruyi borders equally placed on four sides of the cavetto. The inclusion of daisies within a roundel or arabesque or pomegranate shape can be seen on a number of other vessels, notably, a jar in the Musée de la Renaissance, Chateau d'Ecouen, inv. no. Cl.9296.
