Condition
The wooden panel with old woodworm damage including tiny holes and some of wood dust stuck to surface, few minor cracks in surface, traces of polychromie to edges, set in wooden frame, as viewed.

Inscribed with Arabic verses from the Nahj al-Balagha of Imam 'Ali:
'O God, forgive me the insinuations of my glances, the baseness of my expressions, the longings of my heart and the errors of my tongue.'
'And praise be to God, may He be Exalted, He alone, He has no partner.'
Signed by 'Abdullah al-Qarimi ('Abdullah Kırımi) wrote it in year 987 (1579-80 AD)'.
'Abdullah al-Qarimi was one of the most celebrated Ottoman scribes of the sixteenth century. He came to Istanbul from his native Crimea in the reign of Selim I ('the Grim', r.1512-20), and studied under Darvish Mehmed, the grandson of Sheikh Hamdullah and excelled in naskh and thuluth.
