- silver and gilt on wood
the double-iron barrels with finely incised armourial designs, held by two gilt foliate capuccines, the wooden stock extending through the lockplate and cock in between both barrels and decorated with inlaid silver wire with elaborate scrolls and stellar motifs, the stock partly encased in panels of gilt-copper cast in low relief and chased with armourial designs within a foliate border
Condition
In good condition, some rubbing to gilding, the iron barrels with some traces of oxidisation and abrasion, the gilt-plates on stock with minor dents, as viewed.
Please note that the flintlock is functional and in order, but the function used to shoot both rifles together by pushing back the upper pan is very complicated, please avoid manipulation of this mechanism unless fully knowledgeable in the field as it could be damaged.

Double-barreled blunderbusses such as the present example are extremely rare, this one is further distinguished by its accomplished and elegant design, including a lavish use of silver-wire inlay and finely chased gilt-plaques depicting a multitude of weapons in an armourial design.
