Description
- ink and gold on paper
Arabic manuscript on paper, 327 leaves plus 6 flyleaves, 13 lines to the page, surah headings in gold, illuminated frontispiece in colours and gold with floral motifs, seven lines to the page with gold surah headings in cartouches, contemporary brown morocco binding, with flap, old collection label: "written by Sayed Hamdullah, about year 1,000 H (=1600 A.D)"
Condition
In fairly good condition, the binding torn and repaired, with some wear along external edges, some rubbing and associated losses to illuminated frontispiece, very minor thumbing marks to bottom of pages, and few stains lightly visible on some pages, last few pages with re-margining, later attribution? as viewed.
