Description

  • silver and copper inlaid brass
  • 12.5cm. height.
  • 14cm. diam.
of dodecagonal form on a low spreading foot, fragment converted as a receptacle, each facet decorated in silver and copper-inlay featuring a roundel with zodiacal signs amid knotted and floral motifs, lower section with tall thuluth inscription surmounting a band of scrolling vines

Condition

Fragment, in good condition generally, the base consolidated with brass sheet, patination, occasional splitting, abrasions and dents, silver and copper-inlay mostly intact, one roundel with zodiacal sign rubbed out, as viewed.
