Description

  • 30 by 156cm.
of rectangular form, the central field with large thuluth inscription set against a ground of scrolling flowers, with traces of polychrome paint, including traces of chequerboard pattern in upper right border

Condition

In reasonably good overall condition, vestiges of old paint on surface with some ware, very minor losses to extremities, metal suspension loops and modern wood device attached to reverse, as viewed.

This lot is accompanied by a C14 test by Artes, France, Certificat d'Analyse, C141773 A, confirming the fourteenth-century date of manufacture.
