Condition

This piece has a lovely colour and patinaton. and is in largely untouched country house condition. Minor losses and replaced veneers and mouldings throughout as to be expected with a pieces of this age. There have been some associated repairs. Lifting to the central moulded divide between the two doors, this component could possibly be later. The finely bevelled mirror plates are original but have been re-silvered. Typical movement to the carcase as result of age has caused minor shrinkage and cracks to the veneers and mouldings. Which are more noticeable to the returns of the lower section. The fall with later fabric inset with a very worn and stained green velvet surface. The brasses possibly later - and have been vigorously polished over the years. One bracket foot replaced other with remedial work Traces of white wall paint to the top, back and minor traces to the sides. To surmise a high quality of English cabinet making. furniture. The reverse inscribed 'Lee'. (Possibly for Ronald Lee)
