Description

  • 72cm., 28 1/4 in. high, 55cm., 21 3/4 in. long
in the form of a Dutch Fluyt or Schooner; the upper section with three rigged masts with billowed sails, flag masts to front and rear, the galleried deck with various figures, some drinking under a tented canopy to the rear, the lower section with stylised dolphin spout and rudder, on four openwork wheels, chained anchor to one side

Condition

The base stamped '835'. Both sections plus some sales clearly struck with import marks. The front mast is not firmly fixed and leans backwards on to the central mast slightly. General surface wear in accordance with age.
