in the Empire style, bead and acanthus embellished handles, comprising: 20 table forks, 20 table spoons, 20 table knives, with steel blades, 20 dessert knives, with silver-gilt blades, 20 ice cream spades and 20 teaspoons, in a fitted brass embellished oak case, engraved to hinge 'Odiot, Orfevre a Paris', all pieces crested (120)

Provenance

The crest is that of the Fernandez de Cordoba Family of Escandon from whom the service was purchased by the current vendor.

Condition

Each piece clearly marked. The table spoons and forks also predominantly incuse stamped 'ODIOT'. The gilding is in good order with light wear consummate with age. The embellished decoration remains crisp with light wear to the high points of the gilding. The steel blades are possibly later and in good order and stamped 'Mon ODIOT'. The oak case is in relatively good order with various scuffs and nicks. Gilt tooling to interior cover rubbed but legible. Original key present.
