  • Bronze
circulaire, le dessus arrondi moulé de deux registres de pétales en bas-relief, le bord rehaussé d'une large bande de motifs géométriques, surmonté d'une prise évasée, l'intérieur portant une inscription en caractères archaïques, l'épaisse patine vert foncé

Provenance

Acquired in China between 1894 and 1922.
Thence in the family by descent.

Condition

The cover is in overall very good condition. It is heavily cast and the centre of the cover cast with an inscription. There is a ca. 1 cm wide hole to the centre of the cover. There are two ca. 2 and 1 cm large losses to the rim of the handle. There are traces of earth and light malachite encrustation to the cover and handle. Two paper labels are attached to the inside of the cover, another paper label is attached inside the handle. The bronze is patinated to a darker tone than the catalogue illustration suggests.
