Catalogue Note

"In his recent research Simeti converges all the experience of the immediately preceding one. which was already rigorous, aimed at simplicity, of dovetailing modular, precise and regular forms, within a reduced space, but which perhaps, in spite of the use of extraordinary materials (in the traditional sense of the term) still remained too linked (subjected) to a governing idea of painting. Today Simeti transforming that governing principle, adapting it precisely to a more substantial modularity, solves the contradiction. the result is a field which is not an immobile surface [...] but rather the stage of an action, or a hypotesis to control, the testimonial of an experimental condition of research which finds its momentary certainty in an alternation of negative and positive incidences [...]."
