Catalogue Note
Borglum, best known for his presidential stone faces at Mount Rushmore, created this portrait from the 1860 life mask of President Lincoln and photographs. The original resides in the U.S. Capitol and another bronze cast of the work is in front of Lincoln's Tomb in Springfield, Illinois.
