Condition
Overall in very good condition. The basket portion of the design presents with a rich russet brown that contrasts beautifully with the gilt elements. The wood surfaces present with minor surface scratches and minor abrasions consistent with age and gentle use. The gilded surfaces with minor rubbing, concentrated to the raised portions of the design and consistent with age and gentle use. One minor stain of red paint below the proper left handle of the clock. The dial with minor surface scratches, minor evidence of wear and minor surface dirt, visible in the catalogue illustration. The metal elements with minor surface scratches, minor discoloration and a few isolated minute areas of oxidation. The glass face of the clock is likely replaced with minor edge chips that are not visible once properly installed. The clockworks has been adapted with a modern battery mechanism. Please note that movement is not guaranteed to run at the time of cataloging and was not tested for accuracy of time and may need service at the buyers discretion. The metal circular back plate is slightly out of round.. The cord is likely original with surface dirt, discoloration and minor traces of wear consistent with age and gentle use. A highly decorative piece that epitomizes the French Art Deco aesthetic.
