Condition

Overall very good condition. Professional restoration to one corner of the top plate. Sotheby’s does not guarantee electrical components and suggests having all wiring inspected by a licensed electrician.

Catalogue Note

These lamps were designed for the Yamagiwa Art Foundation, an organisation focused on the promotion of new and innovative lighting designs. Thirty different designs were produced from this series. Ettore Sottsass maintained a long standing relationship with the firm, designing and sitting on the panel of judges for the Yamagiwa Tokyo International Lighting Design Competition. The original sketch of this model is in the collection of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, New York.
