Catalogue Note

The name of the 'Pane' Chair evokes the similarities between the development of a design project and a bakery. Inspired by a National Geographic article on fibre and textile, Tokujin Yoshioka's 'Pane' chair explores the possibilities of fibrous structures, 'heavy but not solid, airy but not hard'. For the artist, 'this is how strength should be in the future.'
