Condition
Overall the condition of the bust is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is a slip to the surface, which may conceal some condition points. There are a few very minor areas of loss to the slip, including to the tip of the nose and above the lips. There are a few small chips, including to the edge of the truncation on her proper left side, to the edges of the bow at the top, to one of the braids of hair on the proper right side, and to the small bow at the back. There are a few minor hairline fissures, consistent with the firing process, including one to the end of the bow at the back on the proper left side. There are some white chalk marks to the truncation at the back, as well as a few scratches.
The ebonised wood socle is in good condition with wear along the edges and corners, and a few other losses to the paint. There are also a few nicks.
