Overall the condition of the bust is very good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is a slip to the surface which may conceal some condition points. There are a few very small lacunae, including one between the eyebrows. There are some very minor chips to some of the flowers in the hair and to some of the high points, including the ears. There are some light pencil marks below the proper right eyebrow. The ebonised wood socle is in good condition with some wear to the paintwork and minor losses at the corners.
