Overall the condition of the marble is very good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The tip of the proper right wing and the tip of a leaf below Cupid's proper right leg appear to have been reattached. There are a few very minor chips and abrasions, including to some of the leaves, the high points of the basket, and in particular to the bottom edge. There is particular dirt to some of the curls of hair, to the crevices, and to the inside of Cupid's basket. There are a few minor naturally occurring inclusions to the marble, in particular to Cupid's proper right arm. The column is composed of four parts. There is veining to the marble consistent with the material, including some slightly open veins to the base of the column. There are several chips and abrasions to the edges and to the leaf forms at the top.
