Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is good, with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some rubbing to the patina at the high points, and notably to the plumes of the helmet. There are several nicks and scratches, including to the proper left shoulder, the proper right shoulder, and the proper right hand. There is some wax residue in a few areas, including to the proper right arm and to a fold of drapery at the back. A few original casting pins are slightly visible, including one to the proper left shoulder. There are remnants of a paper label to the base. There is particular dirt and some greening to the top of the base, in particular in the crevices.
