Overall the condition of the bust is very good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few scratches, notably around the bottom of the truncation at the front. There are a few very minor chips and abrasions, including to the crown of thorns and to a few strands of hair. There are further chips and abrasions to the edges of the truncation, in particular at the back. The marble socle is in good condition with a few minor nicks and chips and some dirt marks.
