Description

  • Walter Winans
  • Buffalo Bill
  • signed and dated: WALTER WINANS / 1894
  • bronze, mid-brown patina

Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is very good with some wear and minor dirt to the surface consistent with age including some minor rubbing to the patina at the sharp edges. There are a few small areas of dryness to the patina, including under the horse's chin. There is some minor greening inside the plant and between the horse's legs. The figure was cast in sections: the joints of the tail and the proper left arm are slightly visible. The figure is slightly loose on the base as is the proper left arm. There is a nick to the edge of the base at the front.
