Despite light crizzling of the almost colourless ground on this bottle, it is unusual and exceptionally well made, falling into the same category as Sale 6, lot 252 and Sale 7, lot 164. Small, it displays colours that are standard for the group (although they appear in the same role for other workshops). It is of higher quality than one would normally associate with the group, and hence may be an early work. The light crizzling might endorse this possibility, although crizzling continued to occur sporadically into the mid-Qing period.
