Condition
There are paper losses to both bottom corners. There are creases, tears and minor losses along all four edges, as well as some minor creases throughout. There are pin holes along the edges. There is a small hole approximately 5cm from the middle right upper edge of the sheet and another small hole in a similar position on the left. The sheet is slightly time stained. Adhesive tape is attached to the reverse along all four edges. Held in a simple wooden frame behind glass. Unexamined out of frame.

Catalogue Note
The present watercolour belongs to a series of works Lentulov created during the summer of 1928 in the village of Morkvashi on the right bank of the Volga. During his stay the artist painted various landscapes in both oil and watercolour, including Sunset on the Volga now in the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery.
