with hinged drop front, the top mounted with silver and oak branches tied with a ribbon inscribed "1876-1901" and with the Roman numeral XXV, also with an en plein enamel shield with the armorials of Moscow beneath an Imperial crown, the scrolling initials MA at lower right, with later silver dedicatory plaque engraved "To Sir Thomas Beecham, Bart. The Great Pioneer of Russian Art in England. In Grateful Remembrance of Happy Cooperation during the Russian Opera and Ballet Season. Lyceum, May 15th to June 27th, 1931. Prince A. Zereteli.
