Catalogue Note
These candelabra are after a pair from 1731 by Paul de Lamerie for Sir Robet Walpole, first earl of Orford (1676-1745) and which were later purchased by the Rt. Hon. Montagu, Lord Swaythling in 1893. They are now in the Gilbert Collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
