Condition

Pile ranges from near original 1/10th of an inch with areas of foldwear scattered throughout low to knotheads. A discolored area in lower left corner. Remnants of original selvages now underneath red wool overcasting. Sides complete. Ends with original purple brown flatwoven end finishes folded over and sewn. Lower end with contemporaneous madder red and indigo braid finish applied now with some losses and fraying. Highly lustrous wool; good saturated color; pile with good density. Flexible handle and good overall condition.
