with inscriptions "Aqua di cardo santo" and "Aqua di scorzo nero" against a ground of boldly painted grotesque birds and figures in a bright late compendiario palette, the cover and spout with a small double-headed eagle bearing an armorial shield
Condition
The jar in the left of the illustration:
The cover has four rim chips, a section of the rim of the jar has been broken into four pieces and re-stuck, the spout is restored.
The jar in the right of the illustration:
There are areas of restoration to the rim of the cover. There is a triangular section to the rim which has been re-stuck resulting in a hairline crack.
