Condition
The picture is abit more yellow than the catalogue illustration would suggest. The canvas has been relined. There is scattered surface dirt and flecks of what looks like white paint as well as a blanching varnish. There is no apparent damage or losses however the paint is thin in places notable around the inscription upper right and there is a small horizontal crease running though his ankles. Examination under utraviolet light reveals retouching to the darker pigments throughout the armour however this appears to be strengthening. The picture is in good overall country house condition. Offered in a black Dutch Style carved wood frame with gold embelishment.
