Epiphone Sheraton, serial number 80202887 (made at the Samick plant in Korea, February 1988), vintage sunburst finish, maple body and top, five-piece maple/walnut neck, 22-fret rosewood fretboard with mother-of-pearl diminishing-rectangle inlays, “Epiphone by Gibson” logo and holly inlay on headstock, two full-size humbucking pickups, ABR-1 bridge, stop tailpiece, “E” logo on pickguard, sticker at heel “Sheraton-VSB,” 17 autograph signatures on the top. Gibson “Lifton-style” brown case, pink plush lining, with Gibson logo stencilled in gold on top, "B B King" written at the head and tail end; a few scuffs and scrapes. Accompanied by copies of the broadcast in 3 media: cassette (2 copies), DVD, VHS, plus 23 VIP Passes to the performance.

Catalogue Note

A beautiful Epiphone Sheraton reserved for and played by B.B. King at rehearsal.

This guitar was played in the rehearsals for the tribute concert arranged by Roy Orbison’s widow Barbara Orbison and held at the Universal (now “Gibson”) Amphitheater in Los Angeles on 24 February 1990, later broadcast on Showtime. Autographed by many of the musicians who played at the show, the signatures include: Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, John Fogerty, Iggy Pop, James Burton, Levon Helm, Michael McDonald, T. Bone Burnett, Don Was, John Hiatt, Harry Dean Stanton, Dean Stockwell, Jerry Schiff, Glen D. Hardin, Joe Ely, Cindy Bullens and Dave Marsh.
