Catalogue Note

the beatles and their entire 1964 US tour entourage sign lennon's book for a young fan

John Lennon, Paul Mccartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Neil Aspinall, Derek Taylor, Mal Evans... and Reggie Young.

Boarding a flight with John Lennon's book proved incredibly lucky for "Eva". On board with the group and seemingly everyone connected with the 24 city tour,  she was able to get signatures from the pilot toThe Beatles press officer and assistants, the English reporters covering the tour,  radio staff from Hartford, members of The Bill Black Combo (including session great guitairist Reggie Young) and Jackie Del Shannon (the last two artists were opening acts). From Paul McCartney's penned sentiment "How's your arm?" young Eva must have been recovering from an accident.

In His Own Write was Lennon ("The Writing Beatle!") demonstrating his flair for Edward Lear style cartoons, vignettes and punnng nonsense poetry. It proved to be a bestseller of course, but as it was not a Beatles project, copies signed by George, Paul, Ringo and the author John are very scarce.
