Drypoint, 1921, signed in pencil, from the edtion of 125 proofs on wove paper (there was also an edition of 75 impressions on Japan in 1921 and two posthumous editions of 110 and 155 published in 1966 and 1984,respectively), plate one of the Der Jahrmarkt portfolio, printed by Franz Hanfstaengt, with the blindstamp of the publisher, Mareés Gesellschaft, framed
Condition
The print is in good condition, with wide margins. The sheet has been trimmed vertically by approximately 2 inches. There is pale mat-stain, darkest at the mat opening, and time-stain at the extreme sheet edges. Scattered unobtrusive fox marks in the lower margin. The verso, with two hinge remnants on the left sheet edge and two strips of tape on the top and right sheet edges.
