Condition
This photograph, pleasingly warm-toned and on rich matte-surface paper, is in generally very good condition. Silvering, appropriate for a print of its age, is visible in the heavy dark areas of the image. Upon close examination in raking light, fingerprints, small areas of retouching and inpainting, and superficial scratches are visible overall. This photograph has recently undergone conservation, and a full treatment report is available from the department upon request. The photograph is mounted to thin card, with creases along the right edge that appear to have been repaired.
In addition to the print in the Center for Creative Photography, Tucson, Conger locates only three prints in these institutions: Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento; The Oakland Museum; and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
