Description
- Richard Misrach
- 'SAN JACINTO PASS'
- ektacolor print
chromogenic print, signed, titled, dated, editioned '3/25,' and annotated in ink in the margin, framed, an Etherton Gallery, Tucson, label on the reverse, 1982
Condition
While this print has not been examined out of its frame, it appears to be in generally excellent condition. The color appears saturated, with no apparent fading.
According to the artist, the annotation 'B. F.' in ink in the margin indicates that this print was made before the lab fire in 1982 that destroyed many of the photographer's negatives. An annotation of 'S. E.' in the margin stands for 'Special Edition'; this edition was made to give to those who had placed deposits on Misrach's cancelled Stonehenge portfolio. After the portfolio was cancelled, the photographer created the special edition of 25 plus 5 APs. '1-81' is also annotated in ink in the margin.
