Condition

This print has all of the richness, presence, and subtlety characteristic of Drtikol's finest pigment prints. Aside from minor wear and chipping at the print's periphery, the print is generally in very good condition. Evidence of faint, insignificant foxing is visible upon very close examination, as are a few tiny deposits of original retouching overall. This photograph has recently undergone conservation, and a full treatment report is available through the department upon request. There is significant foxing on the front and reverse of the cream-colored textured mount. There is a 2-inch tideline running the length of the lower edge of the mount. The reverse of the mount is soiled from handling. The mount corners are bumped and the paper-ply is folding back at the tips of the upper right and lower left corners.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
