Condition
This painting is in very good, virtually original condition, and is ready to hang.
The canvas has not been lined. There is a pattern of very faint craquleure typical for an unlined painting of this age. Under ultra-violet light the only visible retouching is a small spot in the upper-left quadrant; the old varnish layers fluoresce quite opaquely (primarily near the edges and in the lower quarter), however these are unlikely to conceal any notable retouching.
Presented in an elaborate, substantial coved and fluted gilt 'Salon-stye' frame, with a nameplate.
