en forme d'arche, le couvercle peint en plein d'une scène d'intérieur à l'antique, entre une corne d'abondance et un caducée, la tête d'Asclépios encadrée de laurier au-dessous, la bâte et le dessous émaillés de bleu sur un fond guilloché en zigzag, non poinçonnée à part le hibou (poinçon de contrôle français)

of arched rectangular form, the lid painted en plein with a Roman domestic subject flanked by a chased cornucopia and caduceus, above the head of Aesculapius within laurel, the sides and base enamelled in blue over zigzag engine-turning, unmarked apart from later French hibou control marks

Condition

Small patch of damage at bottom left corner of lid panel; restoration to blue enamel on side panels; hinges restrung; small scratches on base.
