Condition
Overall the condition of the marble is good given the age of the lectern and its status as a fragment. There is dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are some losses to the feet, particularly the right angel's proper left foot. There is also wear to the high points, in particular to the noses and fingers. There is a loss to the proper left side of the left angel's forehead and another to the chin. There are a few small losses to the wings. There are various small chips to the edges and corners of the lectern, including a loss to the top left corner and to the centre of the upper edge. There are two inlets for mounts to the rear edge of the underside, one of which is filled. There is a small filled hole to the centre of the underside. There are some black dirt marks to the drapes and heraldic shields. There is an old inventory number painted on the left side: F556.
