Condition
Overall the condition of the wood is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is wear to the original polychromy and gilding, including some flaking, such as at the Bishop's cloak clasp and at the far right soldier's hands. The aforementioned soldier has lost his staff/ sword. The relief is composed in three sections and original joints are visible. There is stable splitting to the wood consistent with material, notably through the skirt of the man holding the baton. Two small sections of wood next to the far left bottom corner have become detached due to splitting. There is an original wood insert at the bottom of the bishop's cloak, and the joints have become visible (resembling splitting). There is a metal hook to the reverse.
