Condition
Overall the condition of the wood is stable with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. Both of the forearms are lost and original holes are visible. The hole in the proper left arm pierces through to the elbow. There are traces of original polychromy to the sculpture.There is stable splitting to the wood consistent with the material, in particular to the upper back where there are also some losses. There is an area of knots and splits to the wood at the back at the bottom consistent with the material. There is also a prominent split at the front of the base in the center. The crown, which is composed in sections, detaches but has been glued in place. There is evidence of non-active worming to the wood, in particular to the back of the base and to the drapery at the bottom. There is a hole in the back of the neck and there may have been an added section to the top of the head.
