A very thin, old glue relining is firm and stable. the paint surface has been somewhat pressed and there is reworking to shadowed left side of costume that can be seen with naked eye. examination under UV light reveals retouching throughout flesh tones of face, reinforcement of pupils and a retouch to left side of mouth. retouching to left side of costume as mentioned above. a vertical line of retouching runs down far left side, and there are also some retouches on lower part of costume and in upper background. In a black Spanish baroque style frame with gilded stylized leaf mouldings and corner cartouches. some nicks.
