Hinge mounted in two places to the upper edge. There are two tears to the upper edge of the sheet and losses to the upper left, lower left and lower right corners. There are areas of foxing and surface dirt to the borders of the sheet. Other than some minor blemishes the condition of the oval shaped portrait is very good, with the medium fresh throughout.

Catalogue Note
In the present drawing, signed and dated 1806, Menuisier records the nonchalant expression of a young man of the First Empire. Using numerous small dots, he models the delicate features of the cheeks and brow of his sitter in a technique that recalls his activity as a miniaturist.
