Condition
The canvas has been relined and more recently strip-lined. The paint surface is secure and the impasto remains thick. There has been overpainting to damage along all four margins, especially lower right corner. Inspection under UV light reveals older restoration to a tear in the sky and a scratch 6x9 cm. left centre. More recent restoration to several small tears in the sky, the largest of which is an inverted L-shape measuring 4x5 cm. upper right. Otherwise restoration consists of small scattered repairs to lost flakes of paint throughout. The varnish is old and uneven.
