Condition
The support consists of an uncut and uncradled oak panel of two pieces, the original join to the right of centre only faintly visible. The panel is perfectly flat and the painting is in excellent overall condition. The surface is now dirty and the varnish discoloured, but apart from some minor surface abrasions and old losses along the left and lower margins, the paint surface itself appears to be very well preserved indeed, with no sign of wear or major damage.
Offered with a gilt wood frame with shell and foliate decoration, in good condition.
