Condition

Both paintings have old relinings and have been recently cleaned. The pictures appear to be in good overall condition and have retained much of their original impasto. There are only a small amount of very tiny scattered retouchings on both pictures, in the first of the pair (The traveller and a fisherman by the Terni waterfall) has a thin line of restoration along the margin the upper margin.
