Condition
Illustration is quite accurate. Good condition overall. The bull has a beautiful brown patina. Spectacular gilt bronze mounts, with a nice chasing; gilding is slightly rubbed, especially on the base below the bull. Very small spots of oxidation.
Dial in good condition. Movement has verge escapement, it is complete and looks as though it would run.
Impressive clock, monumental scale.

Plusieurs pendules de ce modèle sont répertoriées et certaines sont signées du bronzier Osmond mais il n'est pas impossible que le thème de l'Enlèvement d'Europe ait été imaginé par le bronzier Saint-Germain puis décliné avec quelques variantes par son contemporain.
