Condition
The illustration is accurate. Very good overall condition. The gilding is very slightly tarnished. Very nice chasing and exquisite details.
These candelsticks can be attributed to the famous silversmith Robert-Joseph Auguste, as he was also bronzier.

Le Metropolitan Museum de New York conserve une paire de flambeaux similaires en argent signés par Robert-Joseph-Auguste au poinçon de Paris de 1767.
Monsieur Louis Burat était un grand collectionneur du début du XXe siècle. Il légua sa collection d’orfèvrerie au Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris. Son neveu Alfred Besnier hérita du reste de la collection qu’il dispersa lors d’une célèbre vente à la Galerie Charpentier sous le nom de Collection de feue Madame Louis Burat.
