Condition
Good condition for an object of this type and age. Front peg-shaped point rising from coiffure of female figure (at proper left) is a restoration. Marks, nicks, scratches, abrasions, and small chips consistent with age and use. Leather bindings are dry. Fine aged, blackened patina with remains of blue pigment and some encrustation. Male figure (at proper right) is fixed permanently to modern wood base.
