Catalogue Note

This manuscript contains Massé's original version, with many passages cut (apparently during the performances in 1866), which do not appear in the contemporary printed vocal score.  The vocal score was published with the title Fior d'Aliza, as in Lamartine's original story, but "Alisa" is used throughout this manuscript.  The full score remains unpublished.
