Catalogue Note
John Austin was Elgar'’s "friend and editor for forty years", as described in the printed dedication to the Serenade for piano (1933). Austin, the leader of the Worcestershire Philharmonic Orchestra, helped the composer by copying manuscripts and correcting proofs, including for the works listed here. This lot is illustrated on page 108.
